Sahar is a nomad creative project that I initiated throughout my trips in the Maghreb and the Middle-East. Fascinated by the nomadic culture and the ethnic groups that still live according to their traditions, each of my exploration is a way to understand more about the reality of craftsmanship nowadays. My goal is to discover local craft techniques and to antique traditional objects. I take the time to travel to let the emotions and ideas arise. With my knowledge and skills in tapestry, I weave following the sensations felt in each place I roamed. The resulting woven pieces are also connected to words and texts I write during my trips, as a narration, a journey notebook. Sensory memories to share, treasures to highlight. Wherever I am, the social aspect of getting in touch with the local artisans and to discuss about their work and artistic approach is also really important to me, for the sake of textile heritage learning and preservation.
